Tradition and innovation
LAMEL was founded in 1968 to produce cast aluminium spirit levels, made using hand operated crucibles and shell moulds. It grew and developed rapidly thanks to the high quality of its product.
The company abandoned clamshell casting and moved on to production of die-cast aluminium spirit levels, later also adding production of tubular profile spirit levels.
In 1995 a new warehouse was constructed and the company moved to its current location in Scurelle, in the province of Trento. Production of the die-cast spirit levels was discontinued, with modernization of the lines dedicated to tubular profile spirit levels. Levelling rods were introduced in 2003 and the warehouse was further extended in 2005.
In 2016, production was further modernised with a new fully automatic system for assembling and adjusting the spirit vials, and combined with the profession skills of the staff, this enabled achievement of the highest quality standards. Finally, a production line for hand-wound tape measures was acquired, so that the entire process could be realized in-house, from PVC and fibreglass tape to finished product.
